Product Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Purpose/Role Summary: 

This position of Product Engineering is designed to locate in ASCM Vietnam office or ASCM Thailand office, is responsible for Vietnam & Thailand’s suppliers process validation & product validation of introducing DST (Diamond Seal Technology) Products from North America to Southeast Asia, as well as taking daily Engineering Sustaining work in Southeast Asia for local support.

Key Accountabilities: 

1. Ensure suppliers understand relevant Product Requirements in DST (Diamond Seal Technology) categories correctly.

a. Participant in design review with suppliers, to explain design & process requirements;

b. Provide answers to any questions regarding design/process requirements from suppliers;

c. Assist to create products verification/validation, Sample Plan, PPAP Checklist for DST products made in Vietnam & Thailand.

2. Validate suppliers’ Manufacture Process Capability to meet process requirements.

a. Verify Suppliers’ Fixture, Gauging, Assembly & On-line Inspection set up, can meet relevant product requirements;

b. On-site review suppliers’ tooling run, pilot run & PPAP run, to understand supplier actual manufacture capability & capture need to correct/improve area;

c. Assist to assess local suppliers’ manufacture capability study & work with suppliers on capability gap closure per improving action items. 

3. Validate DST products producing in Southeast Asia can meet defined requirements.

a. On site participant in relevant product runs at supplier site, to ensure products producing according to relevant process/operation requirements, identify need to correct/improve area;

b. Inspect/test products producing compliant with requirements.

4. Take leading of local Sustain Engineering work, to support product improvement.

a. As Product Engineering representative, support local supplier’ inquire/improvements in engineering area. Execute Product Improvement activities leading by DFC with local suppliers;

b. Identify any Value management ideas from process or design, to drive TCP goals.

Critical Skills/Knowledge

1. Candidate has 3+ years’ experience in product engineering;

2. Work experience in Kitchen & Bath industry is preferred;

3. Experience with design for manufacturability, DFMEA, PPAP, verification and validation testing are required. Be familiar with GD&T knowledge;

4. Education level – college or above;

5. Demonstrate to work independently. Shown ability to be a “self-starter” with analytical and problem-solving skills;

6. Good in oral Thai & mandarin, can communicate with local suppliers;

7. Be able for a long period travel if need.
