Temporarily suspend increasing the common minimum salary rate from 01 July 2020 due to the negative impact of Covid-19 epidemic
On November 12, 2019, the National Assembly issued Resolution 86/2019 / QH14 on adjusting the common minimum salary from VND 1.49 million / month to VND 1.6 million / month from July 1, 2020.
However, on June 19, at the closing session, the National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution of the 9th session, deciding not to adjust the common minimum salary for officials, public servants, officers, armed forces and pensions from July 1, 2020.
The reason the Standing Committee of the National Assembly gave for not adjusting the common minimum salary is to balance the state budget because the budget has been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 epidemic.
Thus, with the Government's adjustment plan, from July 1, 2020 until there is a new regulation on the time of adjusting the common minimum salary, the common minimum salary will still be VND 1,490,000 / month.
